Every year the district conducts a School Climate Survey for staff and parents. This information goes to the LCAP team, who uses it to determine what is working, what is not working, and where we should be best spending our money to ensure student success. Below is the link to the survey. Please take 15 minutes to fill out the survey. The more parents that we have fill it out, the better picture we have of student, and family needs. As extra motivation, the classes who have 75% or more of their parents complete the survey, will earn a prize. Thank you for your help with this, it is very important. https://www.pbisassessment.org/Anon/GoSx00zzX000

Students making an art project
Good evening Oakdale families. We are excited to get this new year started, and all the staff have been working hard to prepare for the first day of school. School starts Tuesday, August 16th. The Cafeteria will open at 7:45 for breakfast. Students will be allowed to go out to recess and visit their classrooms, on the first day of school starting at 8:00. If you have logged into the parent portal, and updated student information, you are able to see who your child's teacher is. This is the easiest way to find out what class your child is in. Class lists will be posted on the windows of the office, starting at 5:00 Tomorrow evening. Back to school night is August 24th, from 5:00-6:00. In an effort to reduce traffic in the upper parking lot, and to make pick up easier for families, Students in first and second grade, classrooms 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6, will pick up their students in the lower parking lot. A staff member will be in the parking lot with a radio, and will call for your child to be sent out the gate to you. You will not need to get out of your car. We have ordered rear view mirror hangers that you will put your students name on, to help make it run as smoothly as possible. You will receive those as soon as we receive them. If you have a student in one of these classes, and an older sibling, the older sibling will also be picked up in this parking lot. If you have a student in Kindergarten, These students will be released at 12:21 each day. If they are signed up for the after school program, they will go directly to the program. Teachers will keep a few students for a full day, each day, so they can conduct initial assessments on them. If your student has an IEP in place, please see the teacher for details regarding their situation. Tomorrow, Monday, August 15th, the office will open from 1:00 - 3:30 due to mandatory district meetings in the morning. More information will be sent out soon, Make sure to sign up for your students Class DoJo account, because that is the program we use most for communication. Have a good evening, and we look forward to seeing you all Tuesday morning.
