Dearest Families, Community Members, and Staff of OCESD,

Our hearts are breaking with families in Texas as we continue to hear about the events that transpired on May 24, 2022. We as a district do not want to call any unnecessary attention to the events of yesterday, but also do not want to ignore what many of you and our students may be feeling or thinking about. Handling questions, concerns, and fears of your own or from your students may be confusing and difficult, and that's ok. If you need help or support for yourself or for students please feel free to reach out to your principal and they will connect you to one of our school counselors or therapists who can support you and your family or refer you to outside resources.

Here are some resources to help navigate talking to students of different ages about violent events.

We are honored to serve you and your children here at OCESD.
