September 1, 2023 Dear Studios Families,

I am glad to share with you that the 2023-24 school year started off smoothly with the first two and a half weeks focusing on classroom and school procedures, how the brain works, multiple intelligences, and growth mindset. Outside of the classroom, scholar drop-off and pick-up has been smoother than previous years, thanks to our families for using patience and following drop-off and pick-up procedures. We're almost at 100% with our parents dropping their scholar(s) off on the side of the gym. For the safety of all staff and scholars, please help up to make sure drop-off and pick-up procedures are followed.

Last week, we concluded our behavior expectation rodeos and held two assemblies to go over attendance and behavior expectations and consequences. All scholars were provided with a presentation on California Educational Code, section 48900(a)- (s) and how violations of these infractions can lead to them getting suspended by school administrators or cited by the school resource officer.

At these assemblies, we were joined by our new school resource officer, Officer Xiong, who is a member of the Oroville Police Department. Officer Xiong talked about school safety and Action News Now also did a story on the support that our school is receiving. You can view the story using the link below:

We are working closely together to ensure the safety of all staff, scholars, and families.

This week, our scholars started their beginning of the year i-Ready assessment. This data will be used by the school to plan instruction to further support scholar learning. As we move into teaching and learning of the Common Core State Standards and the California Content Standards, our school and district will be using ParentSquare to communicate with families and staff
