This year, OCESD is implementing a new social studies history program. We are in the process of discarding our old materials and would like to offer you the opportunity to have some textbooks as a free resource. You are welcome to come to the district office and select any grade level of textbooks. They will be available at the district office now through September 15. Please come and help yourself. We are open from 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. We are located at 2795 Yard Street, Oroville.

Congratulations everyone on a great first day of school!
-Superintendent Holtom

School Starts Tomorrow for all OCESD Schools: Oakdale Heights Elementary, Ophir Elementary, Stanford Avenue Elementary, Wyandotte Academy, Ishi Hills Middle School and The Studios @ Central. We cannot wait to see each of you!

Dear families, this is Spencer Holtom, superintendent of Oroville City
Elementary School District with 2 very important announcements about the
start of school and transportation.
First, this is just a reminder that school starts next week on Tuesday,
August 16. We are getting very excited about the return of all of our
students.
Second, due to the lack of school bus drivers that are available in the
Oroville area, many bus routes have been eliminated this year. Our district
contracts and works with the Oroville Union High School District to provide
bussing for our students. Prior to COVID, they had 18 drivers, but now they
are down to only five. That severely hampers the ability to provide
transportation to OCESD students. The high school district is currently in
the process of training new drivers, but until then, there will not be
transportation for students attending Oakdale Heights Elementary, Stanford
Avenue Elementary, or Ishi Hills Middle School at the start of the school
year. We understand that this may be a hardship for many of our families
and encourage you to carpool with friends or family members during this
time. The bussing situation will be reevaluated within a few weeks. We
thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.
