🔬 Science Spotlight: Who Knew Science Could Be This "Hoot"?
Our students in Mrs. Flaherty’s Science class at Studios @ Central got a little "hands-on" with biology this week! 🦉

We traded in our textbooks for tweezers and magnifying glasses to dive into the world of Owl Pellet Dissections. It’s not just about the "ewww" factor (though there was plenty of that!); our young scientists are busy reconstructing skeletons to identify exactly what’s been on the local owl menu. 🐭🦴

The classroom was buzzing with excitement as students:

Learned about the owl's unique digestive system.

Explored the delicate balance of our local food web.

It’s amazing what you can discover when you dig a little deeper! Way to go, Studios @ Central scientists! 🌟

Time travel is possible! 🕰️✨

Mrs. Stark’s 5th graders from Wyandotte Academy took a trip back to the Colonial period this week! From the smell of hand-dipped candles to the rhythmic sound of butter churning, our students fully immersed themselves in 18th-century life. 🕯️🧈

Highlights of the day:

Artisans in training: We made our own butter and dipped candles.

The Write Stuff: Students mastered the tricky art of writing with quills and ink. ✒️

Future Farmers: We designed colonial farm layouts to see how families survived and thrived.

Game On: We put down the screens and played traditional colonial games! 🪵

A truly immersive, hands-on learning experience. Way to go, 5th grade!

🎭 Spotlight on the Stage!
The spotlight is shining bright in the drama room this week! Our talented Studios at Central performers are hard at work, rehearsing lines for our highly anticipated May production. There’s nothing quite like the energy of a VAPA student in their element. From building characters to mastering stage presence, it’s inspiring to see our Royals take full advantage of the incredible creative opportunities here at Studios @ Central

We can’t wait to see all this hard work pay off under the lights! 🌟
