🏀 Cougar Pride is strong this week! 🏀
OCESD is so proud of the Ishi Hills 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team, who went 3-0 on the road this week! The Ishi Hills Cougars are absolutely dominating on the court:
🔥 Defeated CK Price (Orland) 41–3
🔥 Beat Marsh (Chico) 42–26
🔥 Took down the Palermo Bulldogs 63–13
Three away games — three big wins! This team’s teamwork, energy, and determination are truly inspiring! 💪
We’re also so grateful to have Coach Clint leading this amazing group of athletes — your guidance, positivity, and leadership shine through every game. 👏
Superintendent Dr. Holtom even got to cheer them on in person yesterday during their big win against Palermo!
Way to go, Cougars — keep up the amazing work! 💚💛

Oroville City Elementary School District is excited to celebrate the grand opening of the Sports Pavilion at Studios @ Central Middle School! The ribbon cutting ceremony was filled with energy, excitement, and some unforgettable moments!
Board President Lisa Torres had the honor of cutting the ribbon, joined by Vice President Sandra Barnes and Trustee Darrel Thompson. We’re also incredibly thankful to our special guests from the Chico State Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams, who spoke with our students about the importance of academics, discipline, and what it truly means to be a Student Athlete.
The fun didn’t stop there—students got the chance to run drills and shoot around with the Chico State players. Even OCESD Superintendent Dr. Holtom got in on the action, going one-on-one with a Chico State basketball player (and had a blast doing it! 😄🏀).
It was a fantastic day of inspiration, community, and lots of laughter!
