
A big thank you to Mr Tom McClain who came to our summer program to share his love of educating students about fossils. Room 8 had a fantastic time investigating horse fossils. They learned how to measure and calculate the size of the horse from the skull. They put their new found knowledge to work using sidewalk chalk to draw their life size horse.

The first step of transforming the old locker rooms at The Studios @ Central into usable space for students has begun! This will be a longer process but we are hopeful it will be another great addition to the Visual and Performing Arts program at The Studios @ Central!

Mrs. Filbecks Emerging 5th grade class at OCESD Summer Program are designing shelters for forest animals to keep them safe and camouflaged.



Emerging 2nd graders in Mrs. Seegrists class at Oroville City Elementary School's summer program did a directed draw, then wrote about deer.




Intrepreters from the CA State Parks Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, spent the morning with students from Oroville City's Summer Program and helping them make and create a nature journal. #LOSRA





Last week students from the Oroville City Elementary Schools Summer Program spent the morning at the North Forebay. They started with a nature walk led by State Parks interpeter Amanda Sellers, then received a water safety lesson before hitting the water.

Even while the parking lot is being ripped up, a lot of work is going on at Stanford Avenue.



The old, unused Room 19 at Ophir is being demolished to make way for a new classroom!




Visual and Performing Arts Update at The Studios @ Central: the dance classroom has been moved to a large, double classroom and the dance mirrors are already installed. This larger space will better suit the very popular dance program at The Studios @ Central!


New flooring is being installed in the Wyandotte Academy Multi-Purpose Room and Cafeteria!
